Lion Apparel German Partnership receives Award during "Efficient State" conference
The LHBw scored on all fronts: in the first two years of operation alone, the clothing corporation managed to achieve budgetary savings of 175 million Euros while simultaneously expanding its services, thereby exceeding its projections by 75 percent. It introduced a federal-wide IT-network in order to optimize its processes. This system not only facilitated the supply of clothing considerably, but also offered a successful solution to economical procurement processes in the context of public regulations for awarding contracts.
Partners of the Federal Armed Forces Ingo Saleck, LHBw Chairman of the Management Board, proudly accepted the award and said, "This distinction shows that the corporation is on the right track. It is an honor for the company's employees, the investors and the client, the Federal Armed Forces." LHBw took on a challenging venture that has since proven to be an innovative and successful business model.
Founded after a tendering procedure in August of 2002, the LHBw is supported by the majority partners Lion Apparel Deutschland GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lion Apparel Inc., and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics GmbH & Co KG.
