VO2Max high-tech sports apparel maker keen on exports

VO2Max, Brazil-based high-tech sports apparel maker, is keen to spread its reaches overseas. Mr Marcelo Torres, Founder, confirmed to Fibre2fashion that the Company was eagerly preparing to serve foreign markets.
He believes that other countries will receive the VO2Max products very well. However, he stresses, that detailed research of the potential markets was extremely necessary.
"We want guidance to arrive in the best market, choose potential partners, and understand what standards to follow. We feel that we may start with sales to one or up to three shops so as to learn how to export", says Torres.
Mr Marcelo Torres, Brazilian cyclist, established this company four years ago. Talking about the beginnings, he said that he was always dissatisfied with the material his sports-wear was made of. Despite being renowned brands, they didn't offer maximum comfort.
Thus, he himself started designing garments and the solution, out of polyamide, was very well accepted by the market in Brasília and in the whole of Midwestern Brazil.
Company with 12 seamstresses and produces 1,300-1,500 items a month, has Federal District and Goiás, Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro as its main clients.
Mr Torres stressed that the reason for the huge success of VO2Max in such a short time is the continued innovation. One of the unique fabric applications of the Company allows cyclists to be seen by cars at night.
He stated, "We use intelligent fabrics, with special nanotechnology treatment, which brings protection against bacteria and also against UVA and UVB ultraviolet light."
Information about VO2Max was presented during the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) Training Week, in Brasília, from September 29 to October 3.
