Liverpool chalks out massive expansion plans

The Ahmedabad based apparel retail chain; Liverpool Retail plans to open 50 family stores and 100 exclusive footwear outlets by March 2011, revealed the Chairman of the company, Mr Kailash Gupta, while inaugurating the first family store in Ahmedabad.
Along with which, it also plans to set up its first own garment manufacturing unit and also aims to touch a store count of 1,000 outlets in its 'Liverpool' apparel retail chain. For all these expansion plans, it has envisaged an investment of Rs 2 billion.
Currently, the company has 500 exclusive menswear showrooms, spread across 22 states of India and also one store each in Nepal and UAE. Last year, the company opened 151 stores in one single day, for which it received a mention in the Limca Book of Records.
