Dawson International PLC announces that Andy Bartmess has stepped down from the board and will leave the Company with effect from the end of September 2010. Prior to joining the board as Group Chief Operating Officer in 2006, Andy led the development of the Group's highly successful US Dawson Forte business. He was appointed as Chief Executive at the beginning of 2007.
With immediate effect David Bolton will assume an expanded role, becoming the Group's Executive Chairman, while Jim Carrie, currently Managing Director of Barrie Knitwear, Dawson's UK knitwear business, has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer.
Chairman, David Bolton said: "The Board is grateful to Andy for his significant contribution during a 14 year career with the Group, in particular, leading us through a challenging time. We wish him well in his future endeavours."
Dawson International is one of the world's leading cashmere businesses. It is also a leading supplier of fine bed linen through its Dawson Home Group division, which supplies own label bed linen to a range of high street retailers. The Group has a trading agreement to supply Dunelm with Dorma brand and own-brand bed linen until 2012.
