mAggie's 107 to show handcrafted Mexican silver jewelry during New York's Couture Fashion Week

From the artisan studios of Taxco, Mexico to the fashion runways of New York City, mAggie's 107 will be part of this Fall's Couture Fashion Week produced by USA International Fashion Shows. The fine silver jewelry importer will be showing their season's stunning jewelry creations on Friday, September 9, 2005 at 4:00 p.m. at West Side Loft, 336 West 37th Street (between 8th and 9th Avenues), New York City.
mAggie's 107 specializes in bringing handcrafted Mexican sterling and fine silver jewelry to the sophisticated, boutique market and to a clientele with an appreciation for the very best silver jewelry designs, giving the wearer “the delightful sensation of turning heads.”
After six years of working with silver jewelry from Taxco, company president Margaret Campion saw that a generation of silversmiths taught by William Spratling many years ago were producing amazing handiwork; not just pieces of jewelry, but pieces of art. As she began to identify the best of the younger, emerging artisans, Ms. Campion joined forces with friends in Taxco to introduce the best of this silver to American associates.
A retail shop was opened in Taxco in order to bring the talented work of some of these silversmiths to a wider market. The first clientele in Taxco were tourists from Mexico itself, or international tourists on day trips from Acapulco. While serving this market, mAggie's 107 also sold special order items through personal connections and word of mouth. The market now includes retailers from the Americas and Europe. As the business has grown, focus has shifted to the more unique designs and the more skilled artisans with a mission to bring their work to a wider audience.
