China’s autonomous province of Xinjiang is planning to increase employment opportunities in the region by promoting the textile and clothing industry at the fourth China-Asia-Europe Expo, which begins on the September 1, 2014, at Xinjiang Uygur, Northwest China, as reported by the Committee of Economy and Information of Xinjiang.

In July 2014, the Government of Xinjiang published a document on ten years plan for increasing the employment opportunities in the textile and clothing industry in Xinjiang. According to this plan, the Government plans to increase the employment to 1 million from the current 200,000.
A dedicated fund, which includes about 20 billion yuan, tax exemptions, special rates for electricity, and other incentives like covering the costs of the training courses of the textile and garment industry in Xinjiang.
Xinjiang, an autonomous region in China, accounts for 52 percent of China’s total cotton production.
