Concerned over 1,000 non-functional stitching units in Pakistan, the Senate Standing Committee on Commerce and Textile Industry recently directed the commerce and textile ministry to take measures to make these units functional at the earliest possible. Due to lack of a proper mechanism and planning, public money is being wasted, the committee noted.
