GOTS India Seminar 2018 to focus on business efficiency

Focusing on business efficiency, stakeholders from organic textile supply chain will discuss initiatives at the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) India Seminar 2018. Through focused and challenging discussions, the one-day seminar scheduled to be organised in Coimbatore, will address pressing issues relevant to the organic textiles industry.

The seminar on May 29 will equip delegates with best practices and know how related to the biggest opportunities – and challenges – help transforming their supply chains to achieve efficiency through sustainability. As consumers become increasingly aware of the environmental cost of fast fashion, 2018 is predicted be the year that sustainability goes mainstream. Advances in textile process innovations can lead to sustainable development while at the same time improving efficiencies and enhancing profits, GOTS press release said.

The event will look into major issues faced by the textiles such as sustainability in the fashion industry, chemical and environmental compliance and future of compliances and standards among others.

GOTS has been organising regional seminars and roundtables since 2016. 'GOTS India Seminar 2018' is the first regional event in India in this series. (RR)
