Ariba's Quadrem Network for Ambatha Clothing

James Seodigeng used to spend a lot of time personally visiting companies to drum up business for Ambatha Clothing, his seven-person company which supplies clothing and promotional items to large and small enterprises in South Africa. And when he was able to land an order, he took it manually. But Seodigeng has his sights set on expanding globally. And he knew that in order to do it, he'd need to operate in new and different ways. So he tapped into Ariba Inc, the leading provider of collaborative business commerce solutions, and its Quadrem Network.
And he has since been leveraging the cloud-based platform to increase the efficiency of his operations and boost sales. “I'm no longer running around knocking on doors,” he said. “I'm going specifically to a place where I know there's someone who has a need that I can supply.”

Seodigeng estimates he can grow his revenues by 50 percent through the Quadrem Network. “If you want to be big, then you have to find big clients that you know have the potential to buy big and that is the kind of customers that Quadrem offers,” he says. “Through their open market, we can see a whole lot of clients. We're not going to take them all, but we can see where we have opportunities and prioritize.”
In addition to boosting sales, Seodigeng is also more effectively managing his cash by processing invoices through the Quadrem Network. “At one client, we receive an order through Quadrem and that very same order is used to generate an invoice the moment we deliver,” he says. Seodigeng's team then enters the invoice number and receives payment recognition on Quadrem. “If we don't get that, we can check on things,” Seodigeng said. “So we are getting paid more quickly as a result.”
