Marchi-Burgo acquires two calenders from Krefeld enterprise

The Italian Marchi-Burgo Group has ordered two new calenders from ANDRITZ KÜSTERS. The single hard-nip and Mat-On-Line calenders will contribute to a marked improvement of the paper quality at two different locations.
The single hard-nip calendar is to be delivered and commissioned around Christmas in the small Italian town of Toscolano at Lake Garda. Equipped with a Swimming Roll and a Peritherm Roll with as surface temperature of up to 120°C the calendar is earmarked to process coated papers. A clear quality enhancement can be expected through the retrofitting of the PM 10 and the use of Küsters calendar technology before the coating aggregate.
This order by Marchi-Burgo continues a long and trustworthy cooperation: “There is hardly any other technology which is as reliable as the Küsters S-Roll”, states project manager Furio Azzopardo from Cartiera di Toscolano.
In addition to the hard-nip calendar a soft calendar of the Mat-On-Line series will also come into operation. The machine has a working width of 7320 mm und replaces the external super calenders currently in use for the production of newsprint and telephone directory papers. This way productivity, capacity, availability and flexibility will be improved. The calendar is equipped with a Peritherm as well as with a Multi HV-Roll. Both contribute considerably to a quality optimization of the only paper machine at the production site in Mantova for papers up to a maximum of 50 gsm. In addition a steam shower before the calendar provides for higher smoothness values of the paper.
