Sportswear maker Fordham acquires Gorga Athletic Wear

Preeminent provider of technology-based sales and marketing systems and solutions Redi-Direct Marketing Inc, announced that Fordham Inc, one of Redi-Direct Marketing's subsidiaries, has acquired Gorga Athletic Wear, creating the largest manufacturer of specialty sports apparel in New Jersey. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Fordham offers a complete line of customized sportswear, providing hand-crafted, high-quality varsity and specialty jackets, banners and chenille emblems for sports teams, service organizations, sporting goods stores and businesses. Gorga Athletic Wear, which will relocate from Paterson, New Jersey to Fairfield, New Jersey, manufactures premium customized uniforms and varsity jackets. Gorga, which supplies approximately 200 organizations throughout New Jersey with customized apparel, including sports uniforms and accessories will continue to produce these specialty items, supplying organizations with heightened brand awareness.
This announcement comes four months after the merger announcement between Redi-Direct Marketing, Inc. and Hewitt Manufacturing, a manufacturer of premium athletic and specialty jackets and chenille.
"This acquisition further strengthens our leadership position in this specialty market niche," said James Lombard, President of Fordham Inc "The combined operations will result in enhanced service and efficiency for our fast-growing customer base."
Since 1933, Fordham has hand crafted the highest quality athletic and awards jackets for sports teams and businesses throughout the US. The Fordham line includes apparel, travel and sports products, which are embroidered or screen printed in the New Jersey facility.
