Fall in downstream demand impacts Asian benzene last week

Lower upstream energy prices, sluggish regional downstream demand and decline in downstream product prices, led to Asian benzene prices falling by US$10/ton last week.

In Korea, prices which were assessed at US$ 1330/ton at beginning of last week, which went down by US$ 10/ton and were quoted at US$ 1320/ton by the end of the week.

In Japan, prices showed similar trend. Prices opened at US$ 1335/ton and also fell US$ 10/ton by the weekend to US$ 1325/ton.

In India, benzene prices which were offered at US$ 1340/ton on August 18, slipped by the end of the week to US$ 1330/ton.
