Cordura fabrics have again been named Ispo Textrends winners for innovative textile developments for fall/winter 2017/2018.

“With 32 award-winning fabrics in this year's contest, the Cordura brand has winners in all the ISPO Textrends fabric categories showcasing the versatility of its latest durable technologies,” a press release said.

Among the top-trending performance fabrics selected for outdoor active markets were Cordura Combat Wool fabrics and developments in super light-weight Cordura Ultralite fabrics for outer layer apparel applications.

“The Cordura brand team is thrilled that our innovation and durability is again recognized by the Ispo Textrends Forum,” Cindy McNaull, global brand and marketing director of Cordura fabric said.

“Traditional boundaries are changing; our brand's focus on industry trend indicators helps prompt the creation of fashionable, functional fabrics, built to last,” she added.

“Whether you're in the office, at the gym, or trekking through the jungle, our Cordura fabrics are designed to offer best-in-class durable functionality,” McNaull stated.

A few of the categories in which Cordura fabrics was selected is Streets Sport for smart knits with Cordura fibre technology and wear resistant Cordura Denim and Canvas fabrics with integral stretch.

The latest Cordura Combat Wool fabric technologies ready for life's battlefield also made the cut, with Chia Her's stretch denim style Cordura Combat Wool fabric being selected in the Top 10 for this category.

In Base Layer, which focuses on fabrics for next-to-skin applications, Shin Young's latest powermesh fabrics with durable Cordura fibre technology were winners in this category.

“Powermesh fabrics are high stretch, lightweight open constructions designed for use in active sports underwear and shapewear applications,” the press release also added.

In the Second Layer category, high stretch knits powered by durable Cordura fibre technology from Dowon Textile Corporation offer multifunctional solutions for gym and swimwear inspired designs.

For Outer Layer, in which Huamao's Cordura UltraLite ripstop fabric was selected in the top ten, which at just under 40 gsm, combines strength, durability and water resistance into an ultra-thin, ultra-light barrier solution.

According to the company, six other Cordura fabrics were selected in this category including Cordura Combat Wool fabrics from Chia Her with stretch functionality offering warmth, durability and comfort.

Under the Membranes and Coatings category, Hau Mao's breathable Cordura UltraLite fabrics with excellent waterproofness impressed the ISPO Textrends' jury in this category.

“Known for its lightweight, yet durable construction, Cordura UltraLite fabric technology is ideal for a variety of end-use applications where optimal strength-to-weight ratio is critical,” it explained. (AR)
