China' main ports witnessed a decrease in prices of imported cotton due to demand constraints. On June 14, cotton prices fell by 2.25 cents/lb on an average, with cotton from Central Asia falling by as much as 3.25 cents/lb.

At Chinese ports, prices of cotton imported from other countries are not likely to rise in the short term due to the current lackluster performance of the Chinese textile sector.

At general ports, for SM1-1/8" grade cotton, the price of US C/A cotton was 171.60 cents/lb or 28,690 Yuan/ton (based on sliding tax).

Similarly, the price of US E/MOT cotton was 168.01 cents/lb or 28,090 Yuan/ton, while the price of US E/MOTM1-3/32" grade cotton was 167.11 cents/lb or 27,941 Yuan/ton.

The price of Australian cotton was 180.10 cents/lb, i.e. 30,039 Yuan/ton. The cotton from Uzbekistan was priced at 177.60 cents/lb, i.e. 29,624 Yuan/ton. West African cotton was priced at 202.96 cents/lb, i.e. 33,760 Yuan/ton.
