Over 100 showrooms at 230 Fifth Avenue will be participating in Home Textiles Market Week, with Designers Guild making its debut in Suite 1308. Abrahami Rugs & Décor, Inc. will unveil their new larger space in Suite Lobby 6. Buyer-focused events and amenities include complimentary breakfast and lunch, promotional giveaways, and showroom receptions. In addition, new renovations within the Buyer's Lounge will be unveiled in the rear lobby space.
Several educational seminars and social events will supplement Market Week activities. At the Javits Center, a series of seminars presented by trade and consumer publications, as well as industry associations, will address consumer trends, sustainability and business strategies. On Monday, August 15, New York City's International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA) will host Color: From Theory to Selection, an exploration of color theory and its practical applications.
Through the cooperation of NYIGF, 230 Fifth Avenue and 7 W New York, Market Week participants also can enjoy free admission to the Museum of Arts & Design (MAD) from August 12-18, upon presentation of a summer 2011 Market Week badge. In addition, a series of NYIGF-sponsored “Only in New York” social events will include the Retailer Excellence Awards on Sunday, August 14; and NYIGF's “A Night on Broadway” featuring specially-priced tickets to Sister Act on Tuesday, August 16. During the summer 2011 Home Textiles Market Week, select home textile suppliers will receive “Best New Products” for excellence in four categories – Bath, Bed, Dining and Home Accessories – along with one overall “Best of Market distinction. Judging will be conducted by a panel of trade and consumer editors on Monday, August 15, at the Javits Center.
