Chinese textile production dips m-o-m in July

China's production of chemical fibres, yarns and fabrics dipped month-on-month in July 2011, according to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics.

The output of 2.81 million tons of chemical fibres recorded in July was 0.16 million tons or 5.23 percent lower than the volume of output in June. However, it was 12.4 percent more than the volume of output in July 2010.

During the month, China produced 2.45 million tons of yarns, which was a month-on-month decrease of 0.16 million tons or 6.14 percent, but there was a rise of 0.23 million tons or 10.7 percent year-on-year.

The month also saw China's fabrics output dipping to 5.32 billion metres, a month-on-month drop of 4.32 percent or 0.24 billion metres, but a year-on-year increase of 8.4 percent.

In the first seven months of the current year, the cumulative production volume of chemical fibres was 19.07 million tons, up 16.2 percent year-on-year; yarns was 15.86 million tons, up 11.2 percent year-on-year; and fabrics was 33.68 billion metres, up 14.2 percent year-on-year.
