China's domestic benzene market appeared flat on Wednesday, as production capacity of downstream products showed underutilisation.
In the domestic market, benzene price ranged between 8,150-8,250 Yuan / ton in East China, market price executed 8,100-8,300 Yuan / ton in South China and mainstream market price was quoted at 8,000-8,100 Yuan / ton in North China.
Supply from companies is limited, overall inventory is not large and production capacity of downstream sector shows underutilisation, overall trade is flat.
Experts expect short-term market conditions to mainly maintain steadiness.
In company news, East Sales Branch of Sinopec plans to raise benzene price by 100 Yuan / ton. Shanghai Petrochemical, Yangzi Petrochemical and Zhenhai Refining & Chemical will implement the uniform price of 8,400 Yuan / ton from September 1.
South China Branch of Sinopec will execute benzene price of 8,400 Yuan / ton in early September, up 100 Yuan from the previous month and is applicable to Maoming, Zhanjiang Dongxing and other Sinopec companies.
North China Branch of Sinopec plans to raise ex-factory price by 100 Yuan / ton, Tianjin Petrochemical,Shijiazhuang Refinery,Qilu Petrochemical, Qingdao Refinery will implement the uniform price of 8,400 Yuan / ton from September 1.
