Manmade fibre textiles now hog limelight

In order to provide a sharper focus and also a boost to the prospects of the Indian manmade fibre textiles industry, fibre2fashion in association with Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) & Surat Art Silk Cloth Manufacturers Association (SASCMA) is hosting a conference titled “International Conference on Man-Made Fibre Textiles” on November 18-19 in Ahmedabad.

Dr PR Roy, Director – Fibre2fashion informs, “India today is second only to China in production of manmade fibres in the world. Despite such a leadership status, the stake holders have not cashed in yet, on the growth potential as well as expanded in the domestic market in an appreciable way.

“The primary objective of the conference would be to create a global platform and a genuine awareness of what India needs to do, to attain huge growth in this very important and emerging sector”.

Mr Arun Jariwala – Chairman of Federation of Indian Art Silk Weaving Industry and also President – SASCMA avers - “Manmade fibre sector is all set to play a vital role in clothing, home textiles and technical textiles in the future, with the expectation that, there could be a cap on the yield and output of raw cotton in coming years”.
