Propylene plant of JX Nippon to undergo maintenance

Japan based - JX Nippon Oil & Energy based in Japan plans to undertake a planned maintenance of its propylene plant in the third week of October 2011, a company official informed fibre2fashion.
The Olefins plant located in Kawasaki has a capacity to produce 140,000 tons of propylene per annum. The official added by saying that, this planned maintenance is part of an exercise undertaken twice a year.
Meanwhile, on September 20, propylene price opened with firm sentiment, in S E Asian market. In Korea and Japan, propylene prices were assessed around US$ 1520/ton. In India, prices were stable around US$ 1400/ton. In Chinese market, price of propylene was in the range of RMB 11900/ton to RMB 12400/ton.
In N W European domestic market, price declined in the range of € 895/ton to € 905/ton. In U.S.A domestic market, selling offers for propylene were in the range of 68.20 cents/pound to 68.75 cents/pound.
