The Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Los Angeles International Textile Show (LA TEXTILE) took place from October 10-12, 2011 at the California Market Center (CMC) with a steady stream of traffic that included an impressive array of Contemporary designers. This season exhibited a noticeable presence of contemporary designers spotted throughout the Show, including Trina Turk, Rory Beca, BCBG Max Azria, ABS by Allen Schwartz, Vince, Citizens of Humanity, Rachel Pally, Disney, Adriano Goldschmied, Citizens of Humanity, Splendid, Ella Moss, Juicy Couture, Petro Zilla, Alternative Apparel, Holmes and Yang, Myne, David Meister, Leyendecker, Corey Lynn Calter, Robert Rodriguez, Hudson Jeans, Velvet by Grahm & Spencer, LA Made, Seven for all Mankind, Bebe, Planet Blue, Frankie B, Fluxus, Guess by Marciano, Joie, L Space, Matty M, Black Halo, Forever 21, Barneys New York, Monique Lhuillier, Perry Ellis, AIKO, Report Footwear, Chaiken & Capone, Pacific Sunwear, and American Apparel, among others. Linda Lee of Splendid noted that “LA TEXTILE is one of the best textile shows" her design team regularly attends. “We are looking for really beautiful fabrics that you usually find as imports but are developed domestically," she said, "and we are finding them at LA TEXTILE.”

This season also boasted an increase in designers from out of town and Europe, including British designer Julia Chase of SW3UK, who said she “usually shops Europe but has found that LA TEXTILE has what she is looking for.”

Among the new and returning European resources lauded at the Show were AB Creations, Bel Maille, Cafissi, Darquer, DG Textiles, Elliot Berman Textiles, Fox Fabrics, Friday Fabrics Ltd., HOH, Intesa C. SRL, John Marshall International, Juan Boluda, Junior-Hagen, Lanificio Nencini, Liberty of London, Miroglio, Monteoliveto SRL, Monterossi, Olimpia Tessile, Solstiss Bucol, Sprintex SAS, Star Stampa Tessuti S.P.A., Tessile Group, Tissage du Causse, Trouillet et Cie, DC Studio, Studio Bert Forma, and Euromaglia.

“This Show has been very good and we have been extremely busy” said Ricardo Carreira of D.C. Studio, Inc., a textile agent who represents over 11 European and Japanese mills. “We have been seeing a lot of designers from out-of-town, including Seattle and Vancouver, and many designers who are looking for novelty out of Europe. All in all this show has been very successful.”

Additionally, Nicolas Brun from France's AB Creations said “Yesterday was very busy, and today has been excellent, beyond my expectations. We have seen a lot of new buyers and out-of-towners which we really love.”

The Lenzing Innovation Pavilion also returned this season with a successful turnout among their network of Lenzing affiliated exhibitors, including Pat Tabassi of premier mill Design Knit who reported that “this Show has been extremely busy from the beginning, which is a hopeful and nice sign of the direction this industry is going. We met a lot of new clients.”
