Chinese gray silk fabric export dives in 2011

Gray silk exports from China stood at 170 million meters in 2011, down 20.8 percent year on year and accounted for 21.41 percent of China's total exports of silk goods.

Export value scored US $757 million, an increase of 7.41 percent year on year at an average unit price of US $4.44 / meter, up 35.62 percent year on year.

China's top five export markets of gray silk fabrics in 2011 were Pakistan, Italy, India, Korea and Japan.

Of which, exports to Pakistan were 45.92 million meters, down 4.9 percent year on year and value was $151 million, an increase of 25.46 percent.

Exports to Italy were 31.83 million meters, down 31.64 percent and value stood at $172 million, up 8.39 percent.

Exports to India were 29.14 million meters, a decrease of 45.63 percent and export value recorded $127 million, down 29.76 percent.

Exports to South Korea were 12.62 million meters, down 9.88 percent year on year and export value clocked $77.196 million, an increase of 22.47.

Exports to Japan were 9.30 million meters, down 9.93 percent year on year and export value fetched $38.451 million, an increase of 17.09 percent year on year.
