In the first two months of 2012, while domestic textile and apparel retail sales grew in double digits, those of exports fell in China.
Retail sales of clothing and textile of major enterprises stood at 172.6 billion Yuan in the period, up 12.8 percent from a year ago.
However, the growth rate was 9.4 percentage points lower compared with the same period last year.
In the same period, China's textile and apparel exports clocked US $ 31.2 billion, down 2.6 percent, of which, textile and garment exports fell 2.6 and 2.5 percent, respectively.
