Viral Desai receiving Outstanding Entrepreneur award
Viral Desai a young textile entrepreneur from the textile hub of Surat has bagged “The Outstanding Entrepreneur Award 2009-2011” awarded by the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce.

The award is unique in the sense that, so far no other textile industrialist has ever bagged an award in this category and Viral Desai is also the youngest entrepreneur to receive this honor. The award was given away by Mr Suresh Kotak, Chairman of the Kotak Group at a function organised on July 15, 2012.

This is not the first time that the young and dynamic textile entrepreneur has won an award. In the same month, his company Zenitex also bagged “The Best Industry Award for Quality and Environmental Protection (MSME) 2010 from the Gujarat Government.

Zenitex Pvt. Ltd. operates a textile process and dyeing unit in Surat and is certified with ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

Zenitex has also won the first prize of the National Energy Conservation Award in the textile sector. It has also been awarded the Gujarat Gas Safety Award, consecutively for three years beginning from 2008.  

Sustainability is an issue close to the heart of Zenitex. Viral Desai told fibre2fashion. “Sustainability is important to make sure that we have and will continue to have, the water, materials, and resources to protect human health and our environment”.
