A Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) plant of Mitsui Chemical is currently running at 60-70 percent production capacity and will also undergo a turnaround in mid-2013.

“The MEG plant is currently operating at 60-70 percent capacity rates, due to poor market conditions and decline in margins”, a Mitsui Chemical official told fibre2fashion.

He also added by saying that they plan to undertake maintenance turnaround at the Osaka MEG plant in July 2013 and which will stay shutdown for a period of one month

The Osaka plant is the only MEG plant operated by Mitsui Chemical and has a capacity of 50,000 tons per year.
