Karina Oldemans Interior announces the launch of OCARINE a distinctive collection of accent pillows designed to bring a touch of runway inspired couture into a variety of interior decoration styles.

The OCARINE collection is available to the trade at Bausman & Company; 921 North La Cienega Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90069, and features fabrication using only the highest quality of materials and workmanship. Pillows come individually encased in a silk organza dust bag. They additionally offer the benefit of being an environmentally conscious product made from repurposed fabrics.

In designing her collection, Karina began sourcing the most distinctive vintage embroidery and beading samples from Mary Ann Embroidery, a company active in Los Angeles from the 1940s through the 1960s, once used by fashion icons such as Galanos, Halston, Norell and Blass.

From there, a mix of both modern and classic shapes and an assortment of the finest materials were selected to highlight and frame the elegant workmanship of the vintage samples. OCARINE pillow designs range from the sparkle of pearl and crystal beading to classic paisley patterns with subtle colorways and embroidery embellishments.

"These extraordinary, pristine and beautifully detailed pillows emerged from the vision of Karina Oldemans and her discovery of a cache of vintage Mary Ann Embroideries," says Wendy Kneedler, Showroom Manager of Bausman & Co. Los Angeles. "Originally used as adornment for the haute couture creations of American designers, these repurposed, very unique bejeweled pillows are a lovely counterpoint for today's interiors."

“The resurgence of high quality, one-of-a-kind accessories and decorative pieces in design magazines, on television and in blogs has influenced today’s fashion-conscious consumers,” says Karina Oldemans, principal interior designer and CEO of Karina Oldemans Interior Design. “They are looking for special, sophisticated items that reflect a sense of individuality and luxury. I designed my collection with this in mind to offer the same feeling in the home that one has owning a designer handbag, garment or an exquisite piece of jewelry.”

“We’re very excited to have Karina Oldemans’ pillow collection using unique vintage beaded fragments in our showroom,” said Deric Schmidt, Regional Sales Manager at Bausman & Company's Los Angeles showroom. “I’m very impressed with the mix of soft to vibrant colors and the broad array of luxurious fabrics used in the OCARINE collection.” He went on to say, “Designers looking for unique home accessories are sure to find these the perfect addition to any stylish home.”

Karina Oldemans Interior Design was founded by Karina Oldemans in 1975. The company is a full service residential interior design firm based specializing in timeless, classic interiors with modern sensibilities. Karina Oldemans is the company’s principal designer.
