New portal offers Kashmiri shawls & apparels online

The intricately hand-woven and embroidered apparels and delicate pashmina shawls, straight from the picturesque valley of Kashmir, located in the north-western region of Indian subcontinent, will now be delivered right at the doorstep of people residing anywhere in the world, courtesy a new multi-product e-commerce marketplace kashmirbox.com.
Launched by a group of three young men, the online shopping portal aims to portray and market Kashmir-made garments and accessories to the world.
The website’s long list of apparels includes traditional Kashmiri pherans, shawls and woollen stoles in bright mustard, off-white, black and purple hues.
Other than a wide display of apparels, the web store also features a range of signature Kashmiri home textiles, such as colourful cloth bags, rugs and cushion covers.
Additionally, it offers handicrafts, furniture, books, artwork and other specialities made by talented artisans and craftsmen from Jammu and Kashmir.
