Chinese textile machinery imports decline in Jan-Sept

A sharp decline of 23.76 percent year-on-year was witnessed in Chinese textile machinery imports in the first three quarters of the current year, according to industry statistics.
 
From January to September this year, China imported textile machines and equipment worth US$ 3.138 billion, while the country exported textile machinery worth US$ 1.679 billion, showing a year-on-year rise of 1.62 percent.
 
Thus, China’s textile machinery imports and exports during the first nine months of the current year totaled US$ 4.816 billion, registering a dip of 16.49 percent year-on-year.
 
During the period under review, the output of China’s textile industry totaled 79.299 billion yuan, growing at 7.73 percent year-on-year.
 
The total profit earned by the sector rose marginally by 1 percent year-on-year to 4.623 billion yuan.
 
On the other hand, the total loss suffered by Chinese loss-making enterprises amounted to 331 million yuan, which is more than double the 156 million yuan loss suffered by these enterprises during the same period last year.
