PSF, MEG & PTA prices continue to slide in Asian region

Paraxylene (PX) prices remained stable in Asian markets. In S E Asian region, PX prices increased and were quoted in the range of US$ 1660/ton to US$ 1665/ton. In F E Asian market, PX prices were offered at US$ 1650/ton. Prices of PX imported from Taiwanese market went up and were assessed in the range of US$ 1675/ton to US$ 1680/ton.

PTA prices declined in the Asian region. In S E Asian market, PTA prices went down and were quoted in the range of US$ 1165/ton to US$ 1170/ton. In F E Asian market, PTA prices were assessed at US$ 1180/ton. Prices of PTA imported from Taiwanese market decreased and were quoted in the range of US$ 1185/ton to US$ 1190/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices remained stable and were offered in the range of RMB 8675/ton to RMB 8725/ton.

Ethylene prices stayed stable in Asian markets. In S E Asian market, Ethylene prices remained steady and were quoted in the range of US$ 1380/ton to US$ 1385/ton. In F E Asian region, Ethylene prices were offered at US$ 1325/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices remained unchanged and were assessed in the range of 66.00 cents/pound to 66.50 cents/pound. Ethylene prices were stable in European international and domestic markets, and were quoted at US$ 1500/ton and € 1150/ton, respectively.

MEG prices declined in Asian markets. In S E Asian region, MEG prices decreased and were assessed at US$ 1170/ton. In China market, MEG prices declined and were offered in the range of US$ 1175/ton to US$ 1180/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices went up and were offered in the range of RMB 8750/ton to RMB 8800/ton.

In S E Asian region, BG PET Chips prices were steady in the range of US$ 1550/ton to US$ 1600/ton and some deals were discussed in the range of US$ 1540/ton to US$ 1580/ton. In F E Asian market, selling offers were between US$ 1520/ton to US$ 1560/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices remained stable at RMB 11150/ton.

In Korean market, FG PET Chips prices remained unchanged in the range of US$ 1430/ton to US$ 1450/ton. In Indian market, FOB based prices were quoted in the range of US$ 1440/ton to US$ 1480/ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips prices went down in the range of RMB 10875/ton to RMB 10925/ton.

PSF prices went down in Asian markets. In F E Asian market, PSF prices were quoted at US$ 1675/ton. In S E Asian market, PSF selling prices were offered at US$ 1575/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices went down and were quoted in the range of RMB 11600/ton to RMB 11650/ton.

In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY and DTY declined to RMB 11575/ton and RMB 12900/ton respectively, FDY prices remained steady at RMB 12000/ton. In export market, offers for POY, DTY, and FDY went down and were assessed at US$ 1585/ton,US$ 1760/ton, and US$ 1635/ton, respectively.
