Sumitomo reduces operating rates at ACN plant

Sumitomo Chemical has reduced operating rates at one of its acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Japan.
According to a Sumitomo company official, the ACN plant is presently operating at 85-90% of production capacity rates.
The official further informed that demand for Acrylonitrile is improving from the automobile industry.
Located at Niihama in Japan, the ACN plant has a production capacity of 60,000 mt/year
