China's man-made fibre import declines in Q1

The import of synthetic fibre for use in the textile industry by China registered 90,000 tons in the first three months of 2013, showing a decrease of 4.5 percent compared with the same period last year, according to statistics from the General Administration of Customs.
 
In terms of value, man-made fibre import by China in January-March 2013 amounted to US$ 280 million, a dip of 4.4 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2012.
 
In March 2013, China imported 30,000 tons of chemical fibres for use in the textile industry, valued at about US$ 103 million.
