The SDL Atlas PnuBurst, Pneumatic Bursting Strength Tester, has been approved by the Marks & Spencer for use in M&S P27 method tests in globally accredited laboratories. Marks & Spencer, known for demanding only the highest quality regulatory testing from their suppliers, recently made the announcement after extensive testing at the Underwriters Laboratory’s independent facility in Nottingham in the United Kingdom.  This is another example of the SDL Atlas commitment to provide confidence in standard based testing through expertise and global partnering.

The SDL Atlas PnuBurst determines the bursting strength and distension at burst of woven, knitted and non-woven fabrics, paper and paperboard. With a wide range of test clamp sizes and pressures up to 1500Kpa/200 psi, the PnuBurst is the most versatile pneumatic burst tester in the industry, capable of meeting all major bursting standards that do not require hydraulic testers. The intuitive software takes into account a correction factor for the resistance of the diaphragm during tests to give an accurate final result including the maximum distension height. All test results are recorded in the touch screen controller and can be uploaded to a computer or printer via USB output.

The PnuBurst is the most recent of many SDL Atlas instruments that are approved for M&S suppliers for use in quality control laboratories around the world. The SDL Atlas Group of companies offers the largest range of textile testing equipment, supplies, consumables, and services available from a single source. With its own offices in the United States, Hong Kong and China, plus agents in over 100 countries, the SDL Atlas goal is to provide confidence in standard based testing through expertise and global partnering.
