China's textile machinery enterprises at crossroads

The demand for new textile machinery by domestic Chinese enterprises is increasing, as textile companies switch to manufacturing of high-end products in view of continuing rise in labour costs and cotton prices.

Although China leads in textile machinery production, the machines produced by the Chinese textile machinery enterprises fall short of latest world textile machinery standards.

Hence, it now becomes imperative for China’s textile machinery firms to move towards production of machines meant for manufacturing high-end textiles, according to industry analysts.

They aver that China’s textile machinery enterprises are now at crossroads of transforming and upgrading their products, in view of the actual demand situation.

At present, Chinese textile enterprises are in a transition mode and are completely upgrading from being manufacturers of low value-added products to high value-added products.

They are also switching from high energy consumption and high pollution to low energy consumption and low pollution, as well as from extensive-type development to intensive-type development through self-improvement and enhancement.
