Japan's man-made fibre output declines in March'13

The production of man-made fibres in Japan decreased by 1.5 percent year-on-year to 82,000 tons in March 2013, according to the data released by the Japan Chemical Fibers Association.
 
Japan’s polyester filament output continued to decline for the tenth consecutive month. It fell by 7.5 percent year-on-year to 12,860 tons in March 2013.
 
The production of polyester staple fibre, too, dropped 3.4 percent to 12,360 tons during the month under review.
 
Similarly, the output of nylon filament and acrylic staple fibre decreased by 6.1 percent and 5.4 percent respectively to 7,940 tons and 13,450 tons.
