Paraxylene prices rise in global markets last fortnight

The prices of paraxylene increased in all the major markets of Asia, Europe and the US during the last fortnight ending July 31, 2013.
In Asia, paraxylene prices rose by 1.41 percent compared to the fortnight ending July 15, due to robust support from downstream demand.
In Far East Asia, average PX price during the last fortnight was US$ 1435/ton, while it was US$ 1460/ton in South East Asia.
In the US and European markets too, PX prices followed a trend similar to Asia, due to bullish buying trend owing to improved downstream demand.
In Europe, PX price inched up by 1.53 percent last fortnight and the average price was US$ 1370/ton, while in Europe the average price shot up by 2.17 percent to US$ 1440/ton.
