Textile & apparel retail sales rise in China this year

Textile and apparel retail sales in China’s domestic market have grown, but a reduced rate, this year.
From January to July 2013, Chinese textile and garment retail sales totaled 617.4 billion yuan, showing an increase of 11.9 percent year-on-year, according to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics.
In July itself, textile and clothing retail sales grossed 76.1 billion yuan, registering a rise of 12.5 percent year-on-year.
During the month, total retail sales of consumer goods stood at 1.851 trillion yuan, which is an increase of 13.2 percent year-on-year. Of this, retail sales of large-scale textile and apparel enterprises amounted to 915.9 billion yuan, growing at 11.2 percent year-on-year.
