The China Petrochemical Development Corp (CPDC), supplier of three major types of synthetic fibres, including nylon 6 fibre, acrylic fibre and polyester fibre, is operating its Da-Sheh based acrylonitrile (ACN) plant at lower capacity.

“The ACN plant is currently running at 90-95 percent operating rate, due to an accident, which occurred in early December 2013,” a company official told fibre2fashion.

When asked about any maintenance schedule, the official informed that the Hsiaokang district, Kaohsiung-based caprolactam (CPL) plant is expected to be shut for maintenance turnaround for around two to three weeks in April or May 2014.

The Da-Sheh based plant has ACN production capacity of 240,000 mt/year, while the CPL plant has production capacity of 200,000 mt/year.

CPDC is amongst the top five global CPL producers, and among the top ten ACN producers in the world.
