Ethylene & MEG prices drop in Southeast Asian markets

Paraxylene (PX) prices increased in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, PX prices surged and were offered in the range of US$ 1235/ton to US$ 1240/ton. In the F E Asian market, PX prices moved up and were offered at US$ 1220/ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market surged and were assessed in the range of US$ 1220/ton to US$ 1225/ton.

PTA prices surged in the Asian region. In the S E Asian market, PTA prices increased and were offered in the range of US$ 910/ton to US$ 915/ton. In the F E Asian market, PTA prices surged and were assessed at US$ 910/ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market rose and were offered in the range of US$ 900/ton to US$ 905/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices inched up and were offered in the range of RMB 6475/ton to RMB 6525/ton.

Ethylene prices declined in Asian markets. In the S E Asian market, Ethylene prices decreased and were offered in the range of US$ 1430/ton to US$ 1435/ton. In the F E Asian region, Ethylene prices declined and were quoted at US$ 1375/ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices remained steady and were offered in the range of 51.50 cents/pound to 52.00 cents/pound. Ethylene prices remained steady in the European international market at US$ 1220/ton, while they declined in European domestic market to € 905/ton.

MEG prices decreased in Asian markets. In the S E Asian region, MEG prices dropped and were offered at US$ 955/ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices increased and were quoted in the range of US$ 955/ton to US$ 960/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices kept steady in the range of RMB 6800/ton to RMB 6850/ton.

In the S E Asian region, prices of BG PET Chips kept steady in the range of US$ 1310/ton to US$ 1350/ton, and some deals were quoted in the range of US$ 1320/ton to US$ 1360/ton. In the F E Asian market, selling offers remained steady in the range of US$ 1330/ton to US$ 1370/ton, while talked prices were assessed between US$ 1340/ton and US$ 1380/ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips prices increased and were offered in the range of RMB 8900/ton to RMB 8950/ton.

In the Korean market, FG PET Chips prices remained steady and were offered in the range of US$ 1140/ton to US$ 1180/ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices were quoted in the range of US$ 1200/ton to US$ 1240/ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips prices increased and were quoted in the range of RMB 8000/ton to RMB 8050/ton.

PSF prices remained steady in the Asian region. In the F E Asian market, PSF prices were offered at US$ 1480/ton. In the S E Asian market, PSF selling prices were assessed at US$ 1380/ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices kept steady and were quoted in the range of RMB 8700/ton to RMB 8750/ton.

In the Chinese domestic market, Polyester POY, DTY and FDY prices kept inert and were quoted at RMB 8950/ton, RMB 10925/ton and RMB 9500/ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY, DTY, and FDY remained steady at US$ 1205/ton, US$ 1455/ton, and US$ 1260/ton, respectively.
