Dissolving Pulp prices dip marginally in Chinese market

In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Cotton Linter were assessed at RMB 2750/ton during the last week ending May 30, 2014, which were relatively stable compared to the previous week. In the last updates from market, offer prices were in the range of RMB 2700/ton to RMB 2900/ton, and trading prices were range bound between RMB 2600/ton and RMB 2800/ton.

Prices of Dissolving Pulp were quoted at RMB 6340/ton in the last week, which were marginally down from the previous week. Prices of imported Dissolving Wood Pulp were assessed in the range of US$ 840/ton to US$ 850/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from the US and Europe were in the range of US$ 870/ton to US$ 890/ton, while those from Canada were in the range of US$ 880/ton to US$ 890/ton. Prices of Pulp imported from Sweden were between US$ 850/ton and US$ 870/ton.

VSF prices remained steady at RMB 11550/ton in the last week. At the beginning of the week, VSF market opened with RMB 11550/ton, and prices remained stable thereafter in the range of RMB 11550/ton to RMB 11900/ton. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VSF were in the range of US$ 1.64/kg to US$ 1.69/kg. Market analysts expect VSF prices to remain range bound in the near term.

In the last week, VFY market remained stable and prices were assessed at RMB 34780/ton as downstream buyers showed limited buying indications during that period. VFY trading sentiments remained lackluster amid mediocre market sentiments during that period. VFY producers kept offers in the range of RMB 34750/ton to RMB 34800/ton. In the Chinese market, offers for imported VFY hovered in the range of US$ 5700/ton to US$ 5810/ton.
