Agriculture Dept. also helps to guide them. Here women and young farmers are more active as per trade sources. Farmers group supports BT seeds as they are pest resistant.

DCH.32 rates are ruling at Rs.58,500 to Rs.59,000 per candy spot for 34mm staple length and South Mills bought at this rate, about one week back, on immediate payment terms. Soil preparations and input collection have begun as they foresee timely monsoon. Arrivals are hardly around 2500 bales a day.

If nature supports with timely rains, the kappas will start arriving in some pockets in the end of August. Cotton sowing has begun in irrigated and recently rained tracks in small way. Farmers have done well in this season and all expectations are that the Karnataka Farmers also march towards adoption of area doubling in cotton crop. State Govt. plans to assist the cotton Farmers in increasing area to attract value additions.
