Japanese flat knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki will hold a private exhibition from November 12-14, 2014 at Liberty House in London.

Shima Seiki will showcase the latest version of its SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system as well as knitwear samples from its Wholegarment technology.

Demonstrations will be performed on the SDS-ONE APEX3 3D design system that is at the core of Shima Seiki’s ‘Total Fashion System’ concept.

Shima Seiki says with comprehensive support of the apparel supply chain, APEX3 integrates production into one smooth and efficient workflow from planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion.

“Virtual Sampling through photo-realistic simulation minimises the need for sample-making, effectively reducing time, material and cost from the sampling process,” the knitting machine producer adds.

APEX3 supports design and simulation in such industries as flat knitting, circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing.

Also on display will be the latest collection of seam-free Wholegarment knitwear, featuring superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics.

Shima Seiki will present new solutions in knitwear design, shaping techniques and material selection for further maximising benefits of Wholegarment knitting technology.

Additional fabrics on show include, knitwear samples manufactured on Shima Seiki’s new SRY machine featuring loop presser beds that produce novel fabrics with woven textures.

Also on display will be knitwear with added value in the form of inkjet print designs produced on Shima Seiki’s unique SIP flatbed inkjet printing machine.

“SIP features a height adjustable printing head that allows for printing onto 3D textures, as well as finished products such as Wholegarment items,” Shima Seiki informs. (AR)
