Ethylene prices dip; PX & MEG up in Southeast Asia

Paraxylene (PX) prices increased in Asian markets. PX prices surged in SE Asia, where they ranged between US$ 945 and 950 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PX prices went up to US$ 930 per ton. Prices of PX imported from the Taiwanese market declined to a range of US$ 935 to 940 per ton.
 
PTA prices remained steady in Asia. SE Asian market witnessed steady trend in PTA prices, which ranged between US$ 750 and 755 per ton. In the FE Asian market, PTA prices were stable at US$ 730 per ton. Prices of PTA imported from the Taiwanese market plunged to a range of US$ 715 to 720 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PTA prices increased to a range of RMB 5495 to 5545 per ton.
 
Ethylene prices showed varied trend in Asian markets. In the SE Asian market, Ethylene prices declined ranging between US$ 1135 and 1140 per ton. In the FE Asian market, Ethylene prices were steady at US$ 1075 per ton. In the US market, Ethylene prices were stable ranging between 47.50 and 50.00 cents per pound. Ethylene prices maintained steady trend in the European international as well as in domestic markets at US$ 1115 per ton and € 920 per ton, respectively.
 
MEG prices surged in Asia. In SE Asia, MEG prices went up to US$ 860 per ton. In the Chinese international market, MEG prices went down ranging between US$ 795 to 800 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, MEG prices increased to a range of RMB 6430 to 6480 per ton.
 
In SE Asia, prices of BG PET Chips kept steady ranging between US$ 1130 and 1170 per ton, and some deals were concluded in the range of US$ 1140 to 1180 per ton. In the FE Asian market, selling offers remained steady in the range of US$ 1150 to 1190 per ton, while talked prices hovered in the range of US$ 1160 to 1200 per ton. In the Chinese market, BG PET Chips’ prices stayed stable ranging between RMB 7950 to 8000 per ton.
 
In the Korean market, prices of FG PET Chips were steady in the range between US$ 1010 to 1050 per ton. In the Indian market, FOB based prices hovered in the range of US$ 1020 to 1060 per ton. In the Chinese market, FG PET Chips’ prices maintained steady trend and they ranged between RMB 7450 to 7500 per ton.
 
PSF prices were steady in Asia. In the FE Asian market, PSF prices remained steady at US$ 1210 per ton. In the SE Asian market, PSF selling prices were stable at US$ 1110 per ton. In the Chinese domestic market, PSF prices were steady ranging between RMB 8150 and 8200 per ton.
 
In the Chinese domestic market, prices of Polyester POY, DTY and FDY were steady at RMB 8800 per ton, RMB 10650 per ton and RMB 8700 per ton, respectively. In the export market, offers for POY, DTY and FDY were stable at US$ 1195 per ton, US$ 1455 per ton and US$ 1165 per ton, respectively.
