Shima Seiki Italia S.p.A., Italian subsidiary of Japanese computerized knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki Mfg., Ltd., will participate at the 76th Pitti Immagine Filati exhibition in Florence, Italy.

The Italian subsidiary will participate in the KnitClub section of the exhibition which aims to appeal to technical and creative interests of visitors and stimulate advanced integration of the entire production chain.

Shima Seiki said it will showcase ‘SDS-ONE APEX3’ 3D design system, which perfectly matches the concept.

SDS-ONE APEX3 is at the core of Shima Seiki’s ‘Total Knitting System’ concept, made possible via its comprehensive support from planning and production to sales promotion.

According to Shima Seiki, an ultra-realistic simulation capability allows virtual sampling to minimise the costly time and resource consuming sample making process.

“Products can also be evaluated using 3D simulation, such as 3D modeling, 3D fitting and 3D mapping,” it added.

The knitting machine producer will showcase examples of virtual samples, in addition to knitwear produced on its Wholegarment machine that features superior fit, comfort and draping characteristics.

Samples of knitted textiles produced on Shima Seiki’s new SRY machine that is capable of producing unique hybrid knit fabrics that cross-over into the realm of wovens, will also be on display. (AR)
