The feeling of long-lasting hygiene, comfort & freshness can now be experienced in a new range of functional socks made with Amicor, an anti-microbial fibre manufactured by Thai Acrylic Fibre Co. Ltd.

According to a Thai Acrylics press release, Amicor fibre provides anti-bacterial and anti-fungal performance in socks & legwears in up to 100 washing cycles.

“Socks remain fresh and odour free and without any microbial growth or itching in the foot throughout the day,” the Aditya Birla Group company added.

“Amicor fibre effectively prevents ‘Athletes Foot’ and other fungal infections of the feet and is designed to provide a pure feel to the feet,” it observed.

Biswajit Chaudhuri, chief marketing officer at Thai Acrylic said, “Our performance in everyday life, especially for children, is critically related to the comfort-level of our feet.”

“In every activity of sports, studies or leisure, the better we feel, the better we perform and socks made with Amicor fibres ensure that we perform at our best every time and that too all day long,” he too added.

Amicor fibre has been technically developed by the superior ‘Late Injection’ technology and is injected into the core of the fibre.

So unlike other anti-microbial surface finishes, it is not in direct contact with the skin, due to which Amicor is gentle, safe and soft and very suitable for use in apparels for children and babies.

Amicor fibre is endorsed and compliant with the European Legislation and has also bagged ‘Seal of Approval’ from the British Allergy Foundation, is REACH SVHC compliant and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1 certified.

Thai Acrylics further added that Amicor has been a leader in anti-microbial textiles since its invention by Acordis (UK) having key markets in UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Thailand to name a few.

This year, aggressive promotions are being conducted in China covering a range of end-applications and for applications in socks and legwear, the company offers Amicor blended yarns from certified suppliers.

Yarns, both single and double yarns from 10-60 Ne in blends with viscose, cotton, polyester, Modal, Micro-Modal, Tencel, etc. are available.

Amicor fibre yarn blended with wool & acrylic are also available for thermal socks & legwears, which according to Thai Acrylic are perfectly suited for the cold winter season. (AR)
