Japanese computerised knitting machine manufacturer Shima Seiki is exhibiting at the Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Exposition in Chittagong which runs from August 6-8, 2015.

Shima Seiki is exhibiting at the fair through its partner Pacific Associates Ltd and will display its SSR series computerised flat knitting machine in 14G for fine gauge applications.

Developed as a new industry standard for computerised shaped knitting, the SSR112 features high productivity with a maximum knitting speed of 1.2 metres per second.

“It also incorporates the R2carriage system that achieves quicker carriage returns,” a press release from the Japanese company informed.

SSR112 also carries proven technology such as DSCS Digital Stitch Control System, full-time spring-loaded sinker system, stitch presser, yarn gripper and cutter, and takedown comb.

“Made-in-Japan quality, reliability, productivity, user-friendliness and cost-performance combine to satisfy high expectations,” it added.

Also on display will be Shima Seiki’s SDS-ONE APEX3 design system that is at the core of the company’s ‘Total Knitting System’ concept.

With comprehensive support of the knit supply chain, APEX3 integrates knit production into one smooth and efficient workflow from planning and design to machine programming, production and even sales promotion.

Photo-realistic simulation capability allows virtual sampling to minimise the need for actual sample-making, effectively reducing time, material and cost while increasing presentation quality while sampling.

According to Shima Seiki, the APEX3 also supports design and simulation in a variety of other industries such as circular knitting, weaving, pile weaving and printing. (AR)
