Puma plans to open exclusive showrooms shortly in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and Chandigarh.

Initially, exclusive showrooms would sell imported sportswear and shoes manufactured by the company's suppliers from abroad.

It also plans to utilize India's expertise in garment sector by sourcing sportswear from here and export to overseas markets.

The company eyes huge potential in sports apparel segment of the country India and with its predominant presence as a worldwide brand, Puma can definitely capitalize on this.

Puma has sponsored 12 of the 32 teams in the current FIFA World Cup 2006 football matches.

In the 2010 World Cup to be hosted by South Africa, several other countries will vie to seek team sponsorship by the company.
