In the first 11 months of 2007, crude oil and oil products contributed nearly 80.6 percent of Azerbaijani exports.
The state Customs Committee of Azerbaijan issued a press release on December 26. According to the statistics, crude oil exports accounted for nearly 53.7 percent of the overall volume, while oil products occupied a share of about 27 percent.
On an average, the total export saw a decline by 2 percent compared to the same period last year. Moreover, the volume of crude oil and oil products in particular, reduced by 5.6 and 2.4 percent, respectively.
Third in line are chemical products contributing 1.5 percent of the total exports followed by 0.5 percent share of cotton. Besides, the volume of external trade turnover of Azerbaijan made up US $10.5 billion, including $5.5 billion of export and about $5 billion of import.
