The Government of Brunei Darussalam had taken a crucial decision of setting up the Brunei Arts and Handicraft Training Centre Committee. This body was essentially designed to execute policies and programs to revive the declining tradition of the local craftsmen.

It was only recently, that the small and medium enterprises took part in the Sumbangsih Mulia Festival held on January 5 and 6 to create awareness about its existence. A teeming crowd gathered for the event making it a huge success.

The festival hosted a number of activities like art exhibition and cultural performances that emphasized on local culture.

The Sumbangsih Mulia is primarily a building located in Beribi that has become a popular tourist destination for local handicraft products. The premises have been providing grounds for businessmen to showcase their products and handicrafts.
In the years to come, Brunei is bound to create a niche in the world market for its exclusively marvelous work of art and craft.
