Arkema Kirchheimbolanden facility gets GMP accreditation

Arkema was recently granted the « Good Manufacturing Practices » (GMP) certification for the production and marketing of its Peroxal hydrogen peroxide range produced at its Kirchheimbolanden site (Germany) for the pharmaceutical industry.
GMP accreditation certifies compliance with the quality standards laid down by the European pharmaceutical industry for the development, manufacture and control of raw materials used in the composition of products for medical use.
The certification of the Kirchheimbolanden facility marks a further step in the development of Arkema's range of hydrogen peroxide specialty grades.
The world's n° 3 in hydrogen peroxide with installed production capacities of 360,000 tons per year, Arkema operates two production sites in North America (Becancour - Canada and Memphis - US / Tennessee), two in Europe (Jarrie - France and Leuna - Germany), and one in China in Shanghai. The Kirchheimbolanden facility specializes in the production and packaging of hydrogen peroxide specialty grades.
Hydrogen peroxide is used for its oxidizing properties in a large number of applications, including paper and textile bleaching, detergence, effluent treatment and gas treatment. It is also a key product in many other sectors, in particular chemicals, electronics, food processing and pharmaceuticals.
