Aquafil acquires Borgolon, dyed yarn producer

Aquafil SpA has acquired 100% ownership of Borgolon SpA. The Borgolon plant in Varallo Pombia (Italy, approx 100 miles from Milan) employs 75 persons and manufactures over 6 million lbs a year of specialty, fine denier nylon solution dyed yarn.

Giulio Bonazzi, Aquafil Managing Director said: “ The acquisition of Borgolon, together with the substantial investments launched at the Lubjiana (Slovenia) and Cartersville (Georgia, USA) plants reinforces Aquafil strategy to maintain and improve its leadership position as specialty yarn manufacturer, particularly solution dyed nylon for carpet, upholstery and apparel applications."

"Solution dyed products offer better performances and a lower environmental impact than comparable after-dyeable products."

Aquafil is an Italian Industrial group, headquartered in Arco di Trento (Italy) with over 1900 employees, and operating 11 manufacturing plants in Italy, USA, Slovenia, Croatia and Thailand. The activities of its three operating Business Units (Carpet yarn, Textile yarn, Polymer & Engineering plastics) are strongly integrated and differentiated by a high level of innovation and extensive product portfolio.
