Consisting of eight cubic seating elements secured by a fabric band, the “Room M8“ piece was awarded the prize for its clarity of form and for the range of possibilities offered by the design. A Trevira CS fabric by JAB Anstoetz was used in its creation.
The “strap“ stool is a fascinating piece, combining an oversize cushion, covered by a Trevira CS fabric from Christian Fischbacher, with an archaic walnut frame.
Herkner's “strap” finally won the panel over because it is well suited for manufacture and use in large numbers, mainly for the bar and restaurant area of hotels.
For their designs all entrants to the competition had chosen fabrics from Trevira CS collections by Trevira customers, who made these available at no cost.
